Little Performance Residency
Die Reihe Little Performance Residency bietet internationalen
Performance-Künstlern ein Forum, ihre Arbeit in Berlin zu entwickeln und zu
präsentieren.
ada lädt einmal im Jahr (in der Regel im Juli/August) 2 Einzelkünstler oder Künstlergruppen in das Studio in der
Schönhauser Allee ein, eine etwa 25- bis 30-minütige Performance zu
einem von ada vorgegebenen Thema zu kreieren. ada stellt den Künstlern
Proberaum und Aufführungsort zur Verfügung, leistet Unterstützung
bei der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und im kreativen Prozess (dramaturgische Beratung,
Probenbesuche und Feedback).
Die Residenz mündet in drei Vorstellungen im ada Studio.
Wir sind offen sowohl für choreografierte Stücke als auch für strukturierte Improvisationen und für alle Formen der Performance-Kunst - Tanz, Musik, Video, Sprechtheater, interdisziplinäre Zusammenschlüsse etc.
The Performance Residency Series offers international performance artists a unique
forum for creating and presenting work in Berlin.
For each residency, ada invites once a year (usually in July/August) 2 artists, or groups of artists, into their studio
home on Schönhauser Allee to create a short performance piece (25 –
30 minutes) and deal with a subject set by ada. The artists are given rehearsal and
performance space, promotion,
and professional support for their creation process. The residency culminates in
3 performance evenings at the ada studio-theatre.
We are open to set choreography or improvisation, and all forms of performance
art – dance, music, video, spoken word, interdisciplinary collaborations, etc.

Max. 50 Zuschauer pro Performance / Approximately 50 audience members maximum per performance
ada stellt für jeden Residenten / for each resident, ada offers:
- ein Konzept / a concept
- 30 Stunden Proberaum / 30 hours rehearsal space
- den Aufführungsort für 3 Vorstellungen und einen Lichttechniker / 3 nights of performance space including a light technician
- 500 Euro Honorar / 500 Euro Honorarium
- Werbung / performance publicity
- Feedback während des Produktionsprozesses / feedback during production process
- Video-Aufzeichnung der Vorstellung / video recording of performances
Und ada erwartet / and ada expects:
- ein 25- bis 30-minütiges Stück, präsentiert an 3 Abenden / the creation of a 25 -30 minute piece, to be performed 3 nights
- aktive Mithilfe bei Auf- und Abbau vor und nach den Vorstellungen / assistance with theatre set-up and strike
- eine Generalprobe / general tech rehearsal
- Video oder DVD für das ada-Archiv / a video for ada archives

THEMA DER RESIDENCY 2010: Conceptualized
Die Herausforderung der Little Performance Residency 2010 besteht darin, dass sich die Bewerber
mit einem bereits existierenden Konzept auseinander setzen müssen. Die zwei Künstler oder
Künstlergruppen, die für die Residenz ausgewählt werden, werden also mit demselben
Konzept arbeiten. Ihnen steht das ada Studio für jeweils 30 Stunden zur Verfügung. In dieser Zeit
müssen sie ein 25- bis 30-minütiges Stück zu dem vorgegebenen Konzept erarbeiten.
Die Residenten sind aufgefordert, mit dem Konzept zu spielen – sie können "von außen"
choreografieren oder selbst als Tänzer/Performer beteiligt sein. Sie können ihrer Kreativität
freie Bahn lassen, so lange die strukturellen Elemente des Konzepts im zu erarbeitenden Stück auftauchen.
Die Residenz mündet in 3 Vorstellungen, bei denen beide Stücke jeweils an einem Abend öffentlich
präsentiert werden.

2010 RESIDENCY GUIDELINES: Conceptualized
The challenge of the 2010 ada Residency Program is for performance artists to interpret
a pre-conceived concept. Two artists, or group of artists, will be chosen for this
residency, and each provided with the same written concept. The residents will then be
given 30 hours of rehearsal space at ada's studio, in which time they must develop a
25-30 minute performance around the provided concept.
Residents may play with the pre-conceived concept as they please – directing
from the outside, dancing or performing from the inside, using media or any other
creative means - as long as the basic components and structural elements of the
provided concept are present in the final product. The residency will culminate
in 3 performance evenings where the 2 pieces created from the one concept will be
presented.
